Si and the legendary Gyp Collie<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Si Taylor is a qualified ML (Mountain Leader) with many years of experience in both mountaineering and skiing. For eighteen years he also owned and ran a specialist mountain footwear shop<\/a> in Marsden, West Yorkshire before 'retiring' in 2022.<\/p>\n

Through the shop, Si met many folk who walked regularly and for whom the hills and mountains were their escape from the helter skelter of modern day life. Not everyone needs to operate in the mountains at an 'extreme' level, but even so, it's nice to challenge yourself a little provided there's guidance from someone with expertise, empathy and understanding.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, Si's offering days out on the mountains, hills and local moorland that involve something a bit extra to 'stretch without stress...'<\/p>\n

For folk wanting that more extreme level of activity, there are plenty of excellent providers and we're happy to put you in touch with one. We're here for those a little less confident who wish to up their game in a more gentle manner. From a day incorporating elements of navigation to some steep ground or easy scrambling tasters, we're confident we can provide safe and sympathetic guidance.<\/p>\n

It's largely up to you what we do as a day or Summer's evening can be tailored to the individual or group.<\/p>\n

Si is based in Marsden, so when at home, the local area and Peak District are obvious venues for activities and walks. But Eryri\u00a0(Snowdonia) and the Lake District are only just over two hours away and Si has spent much time in both regions.<\/p>\n

If you check the website from time to time, we'll post details of set activities on certain dates when Si is available. These will suggest a format and location for a day but could be modified if desired.<\/p>\n
