Si Taylor

Si Taylor and Gyp

Si is into most mountain and water based sports and spent much of his twenties working abroad before settling down.  After a spell working in corporate IT for IBM he founded Mountainfeet and after running it for seven years in Oldham moved the shop to the picturesque village of Marsden in 2012 where he lives with wife Liz and Gyp the collie.

He is a member of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team and is also currently working his way through the Mountain Leader scheme.

As a BASI qualified ski instructor who’s worked nine seasons in the French, Italian and Austrian Alps he’s well able to advise on most snow sport matters.  He’s also crazy about most cycling disciplines – don’t expect any sense out of him when the Tour de France, Giro, Vuelta or Moto GP is on TV!

If you’re looking for advice on all manner of outdoor kit then he’s a good fellow to talk to – make sure you’ve got LOTS of time though!  In fact, he’s happy to talk about anything and everything – and listen too!

Si has spent many years studying lower limb physiology in conjunction with various mentoring podiatrists and is highly competent to discuss functional issues which may hamper customers’ enjoyment of their sport.  He’s also a qualified foot care specialist and is a member of the Society of Shoe Fitters (MSSF).  There aren’t many problems footwise he hasn’t seen over the last few years but he’s still keen to learn more with a view to developing Mountainfeet’s role in foot health awareness even further…
