Who are Mountainfeet?
Si Taylor
(ML) Mountain Leader
Si is into most mountain and water based sports and spent much of his twenties working abroad before settling down locally in Marsden.
He is a member of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team, a Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT) and qualified Mountain Leader.
As a BASI qualified ski instructor who’s worked nine seasons in the French, Italian and Austrian Alps, Si is well able to advise on snow sport matters. He’s also crazy about most cycling disciplines – don’t expect any sense out of him when the Tour de France, Giro, Vuelta or Moto GP is on TV!
Being an ex outdoor equipment retailer, Si knows his kit inside out – ask any questions you like while out on a hill with him. He’s happy to talk about anything and everything – and listen too!
During his retail career, he qualified as a foot care specialist and is a member of the Society of Shoe Fitters (MSSF). There really aren’t many problems with people's feet he hasn’t seen over the years!
Liz Taylor
The Boss
Lizzie is the brains and beauty of the Mountainfeet operation (unless you count Gyp!). She's passionate about the outdoors and has travelled with Si all over the UK and Europe to climb, ski, paraglide and mountain bike.
In addition, she's journeyed to far flung places such as Mongolia, Africa, Central America and the Himalayas before deciding a few years ago that Scotland needed some serious exploring!
She's highly competent to provide extra help should Si need it on our days out in the mountains and may well feed us if we're lucky!
Gyp the Collie
Trail finder extraordinaire
Gyp comes from a distinguished line of Cumbrian working border collies and despite being an older dog these days, still manages well on the hills. He’s amassed a mountaineering tick list that many climbers and skiers would be proud of both in the UK and abroad.
Gyp does tend to keep himself to himself as he’s very shy of people but if you’re lucky you may still meet him out on the hill!
